Background and undergraduate degree in theatre arts.  Intersted in using performance in the classroom and in the church to enliven the text.  Academic intrests are in Old Testament/Hebrew Bible, particularly Exilic literature and contextual hermeneutics.

Intrigued by this website and what is happening here.  I am familiar with NBS and would like to expand my knowledge.

Doan is the author, with Terry Giles, of Prophets, Performance and Power, published in 2005 by T&T Clark International, and Twice Used Songs: Performance Criticism of the Songs of Ancient Israel, to come from Hendrickson Publishers in August 2008.

I am interested in examining 4 Ezra and 2 Baruch through the lens of Biblical Performance Criticism.

My dissertation includes an exploration of the ways in wich the Gospel of Matthew may have been performed in its original setting -- as a school text? in a proto-rabbinic context? as a tool for reproducing a certain kind of scriptural literacy? as all of the above?

As a practical theologian with a strong interest in Biblical studies, I want to shed light on the dynamics of Christian formation by comparing the practices of textual expertise in some of the earliest Christian communities ('the scribe who is well trained for the Kingdom of Heaven') with the practices of Christian textual experts today (specifically, the pedagogies of critical religious educators in faith-based Catholic high schools).

She has served on the board of the international Network of Biblical Storytellers, and now is editor of the Journal of Biblical Storytelling.

Formally accepted into UNISA for my DLitt - I am planning to do a performance critical analysis of the theme of offense in Mark's Gospel. My masters thesis focused on a narrative critical analysis of the theme of obduracy in Mark's Gospel.

Performance and Orality criticism is a new field for me and so I need to engage in conversation and scholarly works on this field of Biblical interpretation.
